Indian like to go Abroad - Remember

My Dear Indian Friends

Do U dream to travel outside the India, if Yes, below is the tips for updation pl. Now get ready, R U ready!

Passport / Visa / Insurance / Traveler Cheques / Médical Information

Passport

• Passport should be valid at least 6 months from the date of travel

• Emigration Check Not Required (ECNR) stamp on the Passport is now no longer required except if traveling on work permit

Visa

• Visa is required for most countries and most of them are taken before departure, unless it is visa on arrival

• Medical vaccination may be required if traveling to Africa, South America

Insurance

• Overseas Medical Insurance is important (mandatory for some countries) and must be taken before departure.

Tips

• Make photocopies of Passport details (personal information & photograph) and Visas.

Keep one copy in hand baggage & one copy in Checked-in baggage just in case.

• If traveling to U.S, please provide to the Airlines in advance full address during stay in the U.S and country of residence

Seat

• Request your seat preference in advance. However some airlines only allow at the airport.

Meal

• Request your meal preference in advance.

• Meal requests are not entertained within 48-24 hours

Hand Baggage

• No liquids of any type are permitted in hand baggage other than the following items: -

- Essential medicines in liquid form sufficient for the flight (e.g. diabetic kit)

- Baby milk and liquid baby food sufficient and essential for the flight.

(The contents of each bottle or jar must be tasted by the accompanying passenger

• Most of the Airlines allow 1 piece of hand baggage and 1 laptop to be carried onto the aircraft

Checked-in Baggage

• All destinations except USA – allowed 20kg in Economy, 30kg in Business class – please reconfirm with your ticket.

• For travel to USA – allowed 2 pieces and each piece to weigh 23kg maximum

Tips

• Check prior as allowances may vary based on Countries, Class of travel, Airlines

Checking-in International Flights

• Economy class passengers – 3 hrs prior to departure

• Business / First class passengers – 2 hrs prior to departure

Tips

• Try to use Online checking facility, available with some airlines

Minimum Connecting Time

• The minimum time required between one flight and the onward connecting flight

• Example – within Europe is 1 hour, for USA is 2 hours

AT THE AIRPORT

• Check-in Procedures

• Please screen your Checked-in baggage before proceeding to the Airline counter.

• Place your baggage at the conveyor belt & take from the other end after security taped

• You will be asked to open the bags if carrying any prohibited items

• After baggage security, proceed to the Airline counter

• Show your ticket & Passport and place your check-in baggage on the scales

• Your baggage will be checked-in up to your destination or the first point based on your ticket

• The check-in desk will handover Boarding Pass, Baggage tag coupons for Checked-in baggage,

baggage labels for hand baggage and returns your Passport & balance Ticket

• Please also pickup & fill up Embarkation (Departure) card, freely available in the Check-in/Customs area

Customs / Immigration Procedures

• Now proceed to the Customs / Immigration counter and show your Passport, ECNR status on the Passport, Visa,

Boarding Pass & Embarkation (Departure) Card

• The desk may also check your International Credit Card or Foreign Exchange your are carrying

Security Procedures

• After clearing Customs / Immigration, proceed for Hand baggage & Personal Security Check

• Place your baggage at the conveyor belt & take from the other end after security taped

• You will be asked to open the bags if carrying any prohibited items

Tips

• Check & Do not carry prohibited items in Checked-in & Hand Baggage Boarding

• Please await announcement for boarding.

• Proceed through the designated Gate & show your Boarding Pass & Passport while boarding

Disembarkation

• Before you get down, please fill up the Disembarkation (Arrival) card, available on the plane

• Please be sure to fill up details correctly & completely on the destination

• You need not fill up if only transiting
